2060LV - RF DETECTOR (WEARABLE, LIGHT AND VIBRATOR)
These units cover from 1 to over 1,000 MHZ. Detects radio frequency (RF) energy in presence of wearer. The 2060LV indicates via signal light and audible beeper while the 2060LV indicates via signal light and silent vibrator. Both measure 1 x 2 x 4 inches and are powered by a single 9-volt alkaline battery. They are supplied with detector module, flexible antenna, rigid antenna and instructions.
The 2060LV is a wearable or hand held sensitive, broad-band (1 to 1,000 MHz+) radio frequency (RF) detector which indicates the presence of RF energy by means of a signal light and silent vibrator. The circuit is powered by a single 9 volt battery (alkaline preferred) which provides approximately 500 hours of ON time.
Executive protection agents and bodyguards commonly use the 2060LV to detect wireless microphone, eavesdropping devices, and video transmitters. This is accomplished by concealing the ultrasonic probe in the shirt sleeve and covertly sweeping a suspect item or person to determine covert eavesdropping devices. The 2060LV is commonly used along with a 2047U/C Ultrasonic/Contact Stethoscope.
INSTALLATION/OPERATION: Place the unit in a shirt or jacket pocket. Drape the antenna over the shoulder or down the jacket sleeve. Place the YELLOW switch in the UP position so that the light will function. Rotate the GAIN control 3/4 of a turn clockwise from the OFF position. The light should illuminate briefly when the unit is turned on.
If abnormally high ambient RF exists and the light stays illuminated, it may be necessary to reduce the sensitivity slightly. SLOWLY turn the GAIN control counterclockwise until the light is barely extinguished. This unit is broad-band and will indicate the presence of aircraft, CB, taxi, etc. transmitters. These transmitters can be readily identified by the fact that their signals will be turned on and off fairly rapidly. A surveillance device, on the other hand, will emit a constant signal thereby keeping the light or vibrator indicating continuously. Place the YELLOW switch in the DOWN position when the vibrator is desired.
The 2060LT may also be used to sweep a room. Rotate the GAIN control as far as possible, keeping the light barely extinguished. Pass the antenna as close as possible to the area or object being swept.
To replace the battery, loosen the two (2) screws on the sides of the unit one or two turns. Carefully remove the back cover, then the old battery. Snap in a new battery and position it in the case so the battery leads will not be pinched by the cover when it is reinstalled. Replace the cover and tighten the screws (don't over tighten).
